How Donor Direct Works

Our services for the not-for-profit sector

Shopping Mall Kiosk
Through Donor Direct Fundraising, causes reach audiences in public spaces such as major shopping centers and corporate tower lobbies, on street corners, and over the telephone.
As a direct marketing and fundraising agency, Donor Direct Fundraising has recruited new donors for the not-for-profit sector since January of 2003. During the first couple of years in operation we have represented Save the Children and Greenpeace Canada. We are currently running our largest face-to-face project to date, involving the Canadian extension of the international Red Cross societies. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's best-known non-government organization (NGO).

Donor Direct assists its partners in developing brand integrity and manages the petitioning of monthly financial supporters. This is done through a complete suite of direct dialogue solutions including face-to-face and private site fundraising, and telesales. Donor Direct will also help acquire corporate sponsors.

Our services include such benefits as…

  • Interpersonal Charity/Donor relationship building. Our campaigners engage potential donors in insightful discussions, helping potential donors personally identify with a cause. A potential donor can ask a qualified campaigner questions where mailed solicitation could not provide answers.
  • Clarification of different ways to support. Campaigners explain the benefits to the donor of monthly giving, such as affordability, as well as the benefits to the organization. Organizations benefit by increased sustainability resulting in a win-win relationship.
  • We attract younger donors. Our services attract a younger demographic who appreciate the opportunity to start giving on a regular basis. Younger donors have a lifetime of giving ahead of them.
  • Brand visibility. Our campaigners are walking, talking advertisements for a not-for-profit organization's brand. Thousands of passer-bys see the organization's logo each day whether they have time to interact or not.
  • Promotion of awareness. If an organization provides local services in the community or hosts events, the public awareness has a real value.
  • Development of support beyond fundraising. A growing roster of supporters supplies an organization with a large support base to call upon years after. The magnitude of an organization's support has an impact on its ability to obtain grants.
  • Encouragement of volunteer involvement. Many people who may not be in a position to support financially are inspired to volunteer or organize their own fundraising initiatives in support of the charity.
  • Immediate feedback. Our venues can provide a perfect way to test new fundraising methods for real-time public opinion. Campaigners can relay public feedback to the partner organization helping the charity manage its brand integrity.
Donor Direct Fundraising actively develops the resource base of organizations in Western Canada.
